Pier 39 is Saturday, April 11 with an 8:30 AM jump.
Registration: 6:30-7:15 AM, Pilot Briefing: 7:15 AM, Swim Briefing: 7:30 AM, Walk to Pier 39: 7:45 AM, Jump: 8:30 AM, Swim past fat sea lion on the last dock: 8:32 AM
This is a quick swim involving two left turns and a 3.0 knot ebb. We jump on the East side of Pier 39, not on the side with the tourists and the sea lions, but one lonely sea lion will be lounging on the dock to see us off. Probably the same one as last year. A very mellow fellow.
USMS membership is required as is the annual DC Swim Fee of $50.
Sign-up sheets for pilots and swimmers have been posted at the Club. Swimmers are capped at 90, or fewer if we do not have enough pilots to cover our ratio of 3:1 swimmers to pilots.
